Curt Schilling also pitched in the postseason for the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks, and never
lost a game with his team facing elimination, going 4-0 with a 1.38 ERA.
J.D. and Stephen Drew (home runs in Games 1 and 3 of the NLDS) became the third set of brothers to homer in the
same postseason, joining Clete & Ken Boyer in 1964 and Roberto & Sandy Alomar, Jr. in 1997.
The 12-2 victory in Game 6 gave the Red Sox their 68th postseason victory. They are tied for fifth on the all-time list with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Indians have now lost 8 of their last 9 potential series-clinching postseason games.
The Indians went to the 1995 and 1997 World Series with clinching victories on the road in the ALCS.
Manny Ramirez became the first player in LCS history to walk twice in one inning when he did it in the third.
Through the first six games, Kevin Youkilis led the team with a .478 batting average and a slugging percentage of
.826 - additionally, he and David Ortiz are the only Red Sox players to hit safely in all six LCS games.

(2004) for the most even His .500 average (14-for-28) during the series topped Bob Boone's seven-game ALCS record
of .455 in 1986.

The 29 runs scored by the Red Sox in the 2007 World Series is the third highest total for a four-game series.
The New York Yankees scored 37 runs in their 1932 sweep, and the Oakland A's scored 32 runs in their 1989 victory.
In Game 3, Jacoby Ellsbury was 4-5 and became the ninth player in history to have at least three doubles in a game
(Frank Isbell set the World Series record with four doubles in Game 5 of the 1906 World Series).
Ellsbury is the second Red Sox player to accomplish the feat, joining Trot Nixon who did it in 2004, Game 4.
In ALCS Game 7, Dustin Pedroia went 3-5, with three runs scored, a home run, and five RBI. In the last three games of the ALCS, Pedroia collected seven hits, and finished with a .345 average for the series.
The 2007 ALCS marked the fifth time since 1985 (when the LCST became a best of seven format) that the ALCS went
to a seventh game - the Red Sox have been involved in four of the five contests, and have won three of the four.
With his strikeouts of the first four batters in Game 1, Josh Beckett was one shy of the mark for most
strikeouts to open a World Series game. In 1943 Game 5, Mort Cooper struck out five New York Yankees hitters
to start the game. Then, in 1963 Game 1, Sandy Koufax struck out the first five Yankees batters on his way
to a then - record 15 strikeouts.
Including his World Series Game 4 victory, starter Jon Lester is unbeaten in his past 15 starts.
